NOVEMBER 02, 2007SAN FRANCISCOMacy's West announced today that it has received a 2007 Green Power Leadership award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the company's California solar power program.
Macy's West is being recognized for its voluntary efforts to reduce the risk of climate change through green power purchasing. The company has purchased more than 10 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power in 28 California Macy's stores. The award acknowledges Macy's commitment and contribution to helping advance the development of the nation's green power market.
Macy's West is installing solar power electric systems in the following locations: Downey, Fox Hills, Irvine, Montebello, Moreno Valley, Newport Beach, Puente Hills, Santa Anita, Santa Maria, Simi Valley, Temecula(1), Thousand Oaks(1), Westminster, Hilltop, Elk Grove, Fresno(1), Northgate, Newpark, Oakridge, Serramonte, Stockton, Sunnyvale, Sun Valley, Vallco and Valley Fair.
