SANTA BARBARA, Calif.

CallWave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CALL) today launched the CallWave Plant-A-Tree program - part of CallWave's continued commitment to provide environmentally friendly communications solutions to mobile professionals and small businesses. Beginning today through December 31, for every new subscriber to CallWave's Virtual Fax PLUS service, CallWave will plant a tree through American Forests' Global ReLeaf campaign.

The CallWave Plant-A-Tree initiative supports the company's mission to deliver innovative, affordably-priced and environmentally-conscious communications solutions. CallWave Virtual Fax enables users to send and receive faxes directly from the computer - eliminating the need for fax machines and paper - saving trees and energy, as fax machines burn energy even when idle. Additionally, CallWave Virtual Fax removes the need for ink and toner cartridges, two forms of non-biodegradable waste that fill landfills and result in methane and other greenhouse gases.

"Becoming environmentally conscientious is a responsibility of everyone in this country - we are not inheriting the planet from our ancestors, we are borrowing it from our children. At CallWave, we are committed to delivering services that can help save the environment and our future. Our Virtual Fax solution is a simple way to Go Green without making major changes in daily operations," said Jeff Cavins, Chief Executive Officer of CallWave. "We are thrilled to team up with American Forests and to give a gift to the environment and future generations this Holiday Season - planting trees on behalf of our fax customers."

CallWave's Plant-A-Tree Program Details
Beginning today, December 6, through December 31, all users who sign up for the CallWave Virtual Fax PLUS service will get a tree planted in their name or on behalf of a friend, relative or colleague. The tree will be planted in one of the 30-plus regional ecosystem restoration projects driven by American Forests' Global ReLeaf campaign.

Fax - The Silent Eco-Killer
Fax machines are one of the most energy intensive office tools. Even when idle, they consume energy - and energy production is one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions. However, the damage done by faxing goes beyond the machine itself as U.S. companies use 210 billion sheets of paper each year for faxing alone. 17 million trees are lost annually to supply this paper, contributing to global warming and soil erosion, among several other environmental problems.
