NEW YORK

A starry Samuel Beckett celebration featuring Ralph Fiennes, Barry McGovern and Liam Neeson, will be part of Lincoln Center Festival 08.

The three actors will appear in separate evenings of short works by the Irish playwright.

Under the collective title of ''Gate/Beckett,'' the pieces, running at various times July 16-July 27, come from Dublin's Gate Theatre and were plays not originally written for the theater.

Neeson will star in ''Eh Joe,'' which also features the voice of Penelope Wilton. McGovern will appear in ''I'll Go On'' and Fiennes in ''First Love.''

There will also be two performances of readings of Beckett poetry and prose.

Among other theater-related events at Lincoln Center Festival 08 will be a new production of Euripides' ''The Bacchae,'' July 2-13, from the National Theatre of Scotland, featuring Alan Cumming as Dionysius.
