A competitor walks through part of Stage 4, Day 2 of the Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) in Morocco. 2010 marked the 25rd edition of the gruelling 150-mile ultra-marathon. The competition includes a full marathon on one day, a 55-mile stage, as well as other stages of varying length and terrain over seven days. Competitors must carry all their equipment on their backs. Over a thousand competitors come from 43 countries.
