TORRANCE, Calif.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., has partnered with Keep America Beautiful(R) for a fourth year as the Official Automobile Manufacturer of the Great American Cleanup(TM).

Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, takes place annually from March 1 through May 31 and attracts more than 3 million volunteers to clean up and improve over 17,000 communities across America.

As part of the program, American Honda's Road to a Cleaner America initiative pairs Honda dealers across the country with thousands of volunteers to clean and beautify the nation's streets, roads and highways. Last year, nearly 170 Honda dealers participated in the Great American Cleanup program.

Through the Road to a Cleaner America program, American Honda awards grants to the three Great American Cleanup organizations that collect the most pounds of litter and debris; clean up the most miles of streets, roads and highways; and recruit the largest number of volunteers per capita. Winners will be notified in October and presented their awards in December at the Keep America Beautiful National Conference in Washington, D.C.

In addition, American Honda has launched the annual Road to a Cleaner America sweepstakes, in which participants can enter to win an all-new 2008 Civic Hybrid. Sweepstakes rules, volunteer opportunities and additional information on American Honda's involvement with Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup program are available at http://www.HondaCleanup.com.

Honda (NYSE:HMC) is globally committed to offering products with the highest environmental performance that are produced at factories that achieve the smallest environmental footprint. The world's largest engine manufacturer and a leader in the development of cleaner, more fuel-efficient mobility products, Honda's environmental achievements include introducing the world's first low-emission vehicles, America's first gas-electric hybrid car, and the world's first government-certified hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, as well as a micro-sized natural gas-powered cogeneration system that efficiently provides heat for the home with the added benefit of electricity production. In 2007, Honda was named the "Greenest Automaker" by the Union of Concerned Scientists for the fourth consecutive time. And 2008 marks the fifth consecutive year that the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has named the Honda Civic GX natural gas car as the "greenest vehicle."
