MacAir Airlines Joins with Mount Isa Community Helicopter


(Business Wire) :: When announcing the Mount Isa initiative, MacAir Airlines Head of Sales & Marketing Sarah Raymond, said that MacAir was proud to have a long history of partnering with the Mount Isa community for the benefit of residents in the North West.

MacAir Airlines have announced an initiative to assist with the financial support of the Mount Isa Community Helicopter.

MacAir Airlines are donating $1 for every passenger who travels between Mount Isa and Townsville on MacAir commercial services, between the 1st of April and 31st of May 2008. When announcing the initiative, MacAir Airlines Head of Sales & Marketing Sarah Raymond, said that MacAir was proud to have a long history of partnering with the Mount Isa community for the benefit of residents in the North West. "Last year we donated over $150, 000 worth of flights to Mount Isa and the surrounding communities in the North West region. We recognise the important role we play in each community we service, not only through to provision of airservices for residents, but also in supporting and assisting with the continued development of the region on economic, social and educational levels. We have had great success with our Community Support Programs and MacAir Day (School Attendance) Programs, and look forward to similar results with our support of the Mount Isa Community Helicopter."

The Mount Isa Community Helicopter offically commenced fulltime operations in February this year. The service has already been utilised for medical and Search and Rescue operations within the region proving the need for this vital service. The Mount Isa Community Helicopter is a not-for-profit organisation relying on community and corporate support to sustain its operations.

Alex Dorr the CEO of the Mount Isa Community Helicopter stated, "We are proud to have MacAir on board as a sponsor and look forward to this exciting initiative. I believe MacAir's support of this project demonstrates their strong sense of community commitment to the region."
