You always hear of it happening, but you don't think that it really happens.
My son and his date were ready for his senior prom, all dressed up in their finery. My son looked ever so handsome in his tux, his date in her beatiful dress, her hair done just so. They are such a cute couple. I tried to teach my son that, above all, he is a gentleman, she is a lady, act and treat her as such.
They were out for dinner before the prom. They ordered. They enjoyed their meal, chatting away. Everyone in the restaurant surely knew they were going to prom. When the time came to leave and my son asked for the check, he was told it had been "taken care of." A couple who had been seated at the next table were so taken with what a handsome couple they were and how "grown up" they were behaving, that they picked up the check for my son and his date.
Of course this is a "pay it forward" situation. My son will pick up the check for a young couple out for their prom dinner some day. It renewed my hope, that kindness and thoughtfulness really do still exist.
Thank you, whoever you are.
