AUGUST 14, 2008 Today we celebrate "Speak Kind Words Saturday" as part of "Be Kind to Humankind Week." Please practice kindness daily, not for this week only.
Who would think that what we may say can affect others in a negative or positive manner to the extreme? Words are so powerful and yet many of us often times forget just how important it is to think before we speak.
Is what we are about to say offensive or hurtful? Perhaps we are using foul language in public or in front of our children? Are we about to speak kind words of encouragement to another or harsh words of correction treating them in a patronizing manner?
Will we choose to be insulting or kind? Will we choose to lift somebody up, or drag them down? Will we choose to treat others with respect, or disrespect and verbal abuse? So let all of us CHOOSE to speak kind words not only today, but everyday.
Let's think before we speak. And happy "Speak-kind-words Saturday!"
