Be Kind to Humankind Week Celebrates "Touch A Heart Tuesday"
by Lorraine Jara, BK2HK
AUGUST 14, 2008 During this week of celebrating kindness, we should be reminded to practice kindness daily. Yesterday we celebrated "Motorist Consideration Monday" and today we celebrate "Touch-a-Heart-Tuesday."
Recently BK2HK featured an article on the Gary family in Michigan. The Garys are members of a church which organizes a yearly trip to Guatemala to deliver used prescription eyeglasses to men, women, and children. This is a wonderful story of what touching hearts is all about! As mentioned in their story, many children were doing poorly in academics because they could not see properly. What a blessing to have people like the Garys take the time and effort to assist with helping people in need.
We can all show that we care for others by the daily activities we choose to perform in life. To view additional suggestions on touching hearts in your family and community see our list of suggestions below. Feedback and added suggestions are welcomed. Thanks and happy Touch-a-Heart-Tuesday!
