Be Kind to Humankind: Sacrifice for Others' Needs
AUGUST 23, 2010Lorraine Jara, BK2HK.orgSome readers may remember Reilly's story from Be Kind to Humankind Week 2009. (Visit his website: reillyslift.blogspot.com)
Donations are still being accepted so that Reilly's family can purchase a wheelchair van with a lift that they so desperately need. His current transportation is not predictable and with both of his parents unemployed for the past year BK2HK is asking anyone that can give a little to help with this need, please do so! The only way Reilly can get around is by using his wheel chair and it is not easy to transport. It is heavy and he is a growing 10 year old.If you are blessed to be able to walk to your car with ease, you may not know first-hand the difficultly involved in lifting a growing boy in and out of a vehicle. If you have ever experienced the difficulty of a handicap for any extended period of time, you may understand that this is a need and not just a want. Please visit Reilly’s website and help us give Reilly a lift! Please send your donation to the address below:Solid Rock Church c/o Reilly Parent 112 East Church St. Clinton, MI 49236 517-456-9600A receipt will be provided upon request.Sacrifice Our Wants For Others Needs Sunday is a wonderful chance to do something for somebody else in need. Visit an elderly relative in a nursing home. Take your elderly family member out on a day trip. Mow a needy neighbor’s lawn. Instead of spending your money on something you don’t necessarily need, donate it. Offer to walk a neighbor's dog if he or she is unable to. Cook a meal for a sick friend.
