Hundreds of Patriotic Americans will Walk 280 Miles in the Great American Walk for Freedom
On August 11, 2008, in Green Bay, Wisconsin people from across the country will begin a 21-day, 280 mile walk to Minneapolis, MN to participate in Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic convention on August 31st. Along the way, participants will distribute free pocket Constitutions and Ron Paul books to onlookers, as well as participate in Public Town Hall Meetings in 24 towns.
"The Great American Walk for Freedom is not a protest or a demonstration" says Steven Vincent, one of the lead organizers of this multi-state event. "It is a campaign for outreach, education and organization. In each town we pass through, with every American we meet, we will talk about the condition of our country and the solution to its troubles - namely, the principles of Liberty and The Constitution."
Departing from Green Bay, WI on Monday, August 11th, the walkers are planning to arrive in Minneapolis on August 31st, in order to participate in Congressman Ron Paul's (TX-R) Rally For The Republic convention which is being held, not coincidently, at the same time as The Republican National Convention in St. Paul.
"I'm really excited to be a part of the Great American Walk for Freedom" says 26 year old Rod Owers. "I've been training for several weeks. These may be the most important steps I can personally take to help get the message of Freedom, which our founding fathers promised us, back into the hearts and minds of my fellow countrymen."
