Banana Philosophy 101

Life can seem as full and rosy as big bowl of cherries or about as flat and slippery as a tossed out banana peel, but no matter how you look at it - life truly is beautiful and even an old banana can smile at you if looked at with the right perspective.

From an office you're just about to leave forever after being fired, life might seem somewhat atrocious. However, if you look through the eyes of an impoverished Sierra Leone man in search of his missing family and life doesn't seem so bad after all. Hey you can always get another job. Things can get worse but never the worst. Although life might seem intolerable to the African in search of his family, if he looks through the eyes of his neighbour who has buried their child, he might realize that even he at least has hope.

Happiness is yours if you own it. Life is short, in fact too short. The best we can do is to stay positive. Easier said than done? When I was going through tough times in my life I was of the same opinion, but after traveling around and seeing street people struggling daily to survive, my viewpoint radically changed. If we remain closed up in our cubicles unaware of what is going on around the world, such ignorance is surely not bliss. One man's misery is another man's happiness. So let's let potential misery be our guide to happiness by looking on the brighter side of life. Any one person's situation in life could always be worse.
